notes about "City Eclogue"

In reading the book I found the spacing very odd in a way It made the poems hard to follow one line to the next. I also found that the poems seem to be very dark and ugly in nature, that Ed Roberson view the city as a very negative and depressing place. Most of the poems seem to do with the number of buildings and the lack of nature in the larger cities. Roberson also uses a lot of imagary and metaphors turning the cities in to trash dump and the people who lived there were in a prison and could not escape.
