points of intersets for 9-28

First point the third poem in the packet the one by Lyn Hejinian I found extremely odd and hard to follow I did not understand at all what the poem was about or how the lines connected.
Second point I may be missing it but I don't understand what all of the poems have in common and how they connect together.

home away from home

My name is Audrey, I grew up in Midland Michigan until I was 14. At 14 my Dad got a new job in New York in a town called Ithaca. We moved to a tiny town called Dryden where I attended high school. I not like did not living out there and had few friends. When it came time for college I knew I did not want to stay at home I quickly decided I wanted to go back Michigan where I seem to fit in and have a lot of extended family. I have always wanted to teach I knew that Eastern Michigan was one of the best teaching school and only applied to Eastern when it came time. After applying I soon got my acceptance letter and have been studying at eastern for three years now.

Many people wonder why I dislike New York so much, until that is I tell them that I am five hours from the big city and there is not much to do out there and that it is mostly farmland. I enjoy being in cities and being able to go out with friend and it not always meaning go drinking. Where I live is hilly and it is hard to go biking one of things that I enjoyed as a kid. I enjoy being away from my family at school and having the ablity to branch out and meet people my age that have a lot in common with me. I have always been indepent and love to have time to myself and in the end knowing I can make it on my own no matter where I go and that my family will be there with me as well. Now I am not far from my extended family and see them for all the holidays and they are around to remind me that I am loved.
